Two South Korean players win silver medals in Nepal Open International Virtual Poomsae and High Speed Kick Taekwondo Championship

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Two South Korean players have won silver medals in the Nepal Open International Virtual Poomsae and High Speed Kick Taekwondo Championship.

Choi Ahjin and Lee Ji yoon from Korea won the silver medal under categories of Junior Women's Black Belt and Cadet Women's Black Belt respectively.

Raju Chhetri, a former president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) based in South Korea and a gold medalist in Taekwondo, was the coach of the South Korean team.

"The players from the country of headquarters were deprived of the gold medal in the minor differences," said Chhetri.

More than 1,300 players from 31 countries participated in the competition which was held with the support of National Sports Council (NSC) and Nepal Taekwondo Association. The competition was organized by various different Taekwondo organizations. According to the organizers, the gold medal of the above-mentioned two categories was won by Iran and Malaysia respectively.
