KATHMANDU, June 20: The unification process of Kamal Thapa-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Pashupati Shumsher JBR-led RPP (Democratic) has formally started.
Both the parties have agreed on constitutional monarchy and Hindu state as their ideological and theoretical base.
The leaders of a taskforce formed to facilitate the unification process suggested that the agenda is recommended since the party had univocally passed the proposal some two years ago during the unity general convention.
Forms of merger, system of chairmanship or developing multiple office-bearers, power separation were discussed in the talks, according to spokesperson of RPP (Democratic) Rajendra Gurung.
Leaders Buddhiman Tamang, Tanka Dhakal and Rajendra Lingden were present from the RPP side while Dipak Bohora, Bikram Pandey and Thakur Sharma participated on behalf of the RPP-Democratic.
Currently, there are three groups of RPP including United RPP (Rastrabadi) led by former finance minister Dr Prakash Chandra Lohoni. RSS
