Two panels to vie for new leadership in Baitadi

BAITADI, Jan 9: Two panels have registered their candidacies for the leadership of Baitadi District Committee of the CPN-UML at the 8th District Convention of the party currently underway across the country.

BAITADI, Jan 9: Two panels have registered their candidacies for the leadership of Baitadi District Committee of the CPN-UML at the 8th District Convention of the party currently underway across the country. Although discussions were held for two days to reach a consensus for the election of new leadership, the party decided to go for the elections after the consensus remained elusive. 


The election is scheduled to be held on January 15. From the panel led by the current district chairman Surendra Pal, Ramil Bam has registered his candidacy for the post of vice-chairman, Chandra Kumar Karki for the post of secretary, while Saraswati Nepali and Lokendra Bhandari are the candidates for the post of joint-secretary

Similarly, from the Gorakh Bahadur Chand-led panel, Bharat Singh has registered his candidacy for the post of vice-chairman, Santosh Prakash Joshi for the post of secretary, while Bhagirath Kunwar and Janak Bahadur Chanda are candidates for the post of joint-secretary. As many as 535 representatives have been selected from across the district for the election of the new leadership.
