KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Two goals within the last 10 minutes of the match rescued points for Madhyapur Youth Association as it salvaged a 2-2 draw against Boys Union Club on Tuesday in the Martyrs Memorial B Division League football tournament that witnessed the sending off of two players.

In the match played at the ANFA ground in Satdobato, the match saw early marching orders to two players of either sides.

Debutant Ganesh Khadka of Boys Union, who featured from Jhapa XI in the last national league, and Subarna Karki of Madhyapur were sent off in the fourth minute. Ganesh was sent off for headbutting an opponent player while Subarna also saw red for pushing Ganesh.

The match came into life during the fading moments of the first half injury time after Boys Union's Binod Lama easily converted Bartaman Rai's cross from the zone for the Tripurshwar-based team. Boys Union doubled he advantage in the 80th minute after Abhishek Rijal netted in his solo effort. He dribbled past three defenders and fired from inside the zone leaving custodian Ajit Prajapati helpless.

As the match seemed to be in Boys Union's favor, Madhyapur dramatically netted two goals within the last 10 minutes, both from penalty. Madhyapur cut the deficit in the 83rd through penalty owing to a reckless challenge of a defender inside the zone. Sajan Pradhan made no mistake to convert the spot kick. Madhyapur equalized the score in the first minute of stoppage time again through Sajan for a similar incident inside the zone.

Mahdyapur even wasted other chance to score in the second minute of the stoppage time after Sabin Dangol wasted scoring opportunity in a one-on-one situation with Boys Union goalkeeper.

Following the outcome, Madhyapur came level on six points with Pulchowk, Chyasal and Tushal Club. However, all of them have a match advantage over the Thimi-based club and former two also enjoy goal superiority over Madhyapur.
