BARDIYA, Oct 27: Two persons were killed by a tiger in Bardiya district on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Dinesh Tharu and Ramesh Chaudhary - both in their 20s - from Madhuban Municipality-3, according to Kedar Rajora, Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Bardiya.
Human-Tiger Coexistence Amidst Rising Tiger Population
In the past one month, as many as five individuals have lost their lives in tiger attacks including two children, two men and a woman.
Earlier last week, Ganga Khatri, 26, from Madhuban Municipality-3 was also killed in a tiger attack.
The area where the tiger attack took place lies near a Nepal-India border point. “Tigers enter Nepal from India, attack people and return,” said locals.
