CHITWAN, Aug 21: Two people were injured when a boulder fell on a moving microbus along the Narayanghat-Mugling road.


On Wednesday, at 10:30 AM, a large boulder fell on a microbus (Ba Pra 01-006 Kha 6414) heading towards Narayanghat from Kathmandu at 17 Kilo in Bharatpur Metropolitan-29. The injured are 30-year-old Kalpana Pariyar and her 8-year-old daughter Kanchan Pariyar, both passengers of the microbus from Devchuli Municipality-13 of Nawalpur.

Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indradev Yadav, informed Republica that the injured are being treated at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur. According to him, the condition of both the injured is stable.


The roof of the microbus was damaged in the incident.


Landslides frequently occur in this section of the road during the rainy season, blocking the road and causing damage to vehicles and people. The District Administration Office, Chitwan, has requested that everyone avoid travel unless absolutely necessary, as it has been raining continuously in the area around Chitwan for the past two days.
