BARDIYA, Nov 13: It had been about a month since Sabitra (name changed) of Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality had started taking her goats to a field 500 meters away from her house for grazing. That field lies 500 meters north toward Nepal from the no man's land.

As usual, she was on her way to the field along with her goats on Sunday evening. She heard someone calling her at around 6 pm. In no time, the stranger grabbed and immobilized her. Shocked Sabitra gazed at him to confirm if he was someone known to her. However, she had never seen him before. The person grabbed her so tightly that she could not move. Later, another boy came and they both started raping her. The girl kept screaming in pain and shouted for help but in vain. There were no houses around to hear her plea. She somehow managed to reach home after the rapists ran away and narrated the whole story to her mother.

Police immediately reached the site as soon as the family members informed them about the incident. Security personnel in plain clothes were deployed in the border areas after getting the description of the perpetrators. A police team managed to arrest the alleged rapists who were about to flee to India after raping the girl.

Recalling the incident, she said, "I was horrified and was unable to think anything. I allowed them to do whatever they wished for after they threatened to kill me."

The victim's parents are distressed upon knowing their hardworking daughter had to go through such a terrible incident. As per the preliminary investigation of police, the perpetrators had actually planned to kill the girl after raping her.

Superintendent Of Police (SP) Surendra Mainali of District Police Office (DPO), Bardiya said that the culprits were booked in less than an hour following the complaint. The cases of gang rape are not so common in the district. In fact, it is the second such case filed at the DPO.

Surprisingly, the perpetrators are just 15 and 16 years old boys of Bharaich, Motipur of Uttar Pradesh in India, according to Inspector Laxman Oli of APO, Mainpokhari. However, police are yet to make the name of the arrestees public.
