RUPANDEHI, Oct 11: Police have arrested two men on the charge of raping a 16-year-old girl in Butwal Sub Metropolis-7.

The arrested are Udaya Thapa, 35 of Debdaha Municipality-10 and Krishna Thapa, 26, of Butwal Sub Metropolis-7.

According to DSP Dil Bahadur Malla, chief of Area Police Office, Butwal, she was returning home from Industrial Exhibition held in Butwal when she was lured into a bike and whisked to Shivanagar Community Forest where she was gang-raped.

The victim had reported about the incident to the ward police office, Ramnagar following the incident.

Police have suspected the involvement of more than two people in the gang-rape and are investigating the case, said DSP Malla.

The number of rape cases is growing of late in Rupandehi.
