KATHMANDU, July 29: Two former lawmakers of Lumbini Province filed a petition at the Supreme Court on Thursday, demanding their reinstatement.
Earlier, CPN (Maoist center) had sacked these lawmakers – Dadhi Ram Neupane and Dinesh Panthi -- after they joined the CPN-UML. They have maintained that the party’s move to sack them from the position of lawmakers is against the constitution and statute of the party.
Earlier on March 7, after the apex court dissolved the Nepal Communist Party formed after a merger between the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist center), Neupane and Panti had joined the CPN-UML. Following their move, the Maoist Center had taken action against them.
