TULSIPUR, May 20: A child was killed today after getting struck by truck at Lalmatiya area of Rupti rural municipality – 2 in Dang.
The truck (Lu 1 Kha 9506) struck eight – year – old Gautam Budhathoki of Sarumarani rural municipality – 2 of Pyuthan while he was crossing the road, according to District Police Office, Dang.
Budhathoki, a fourth grader at Aadarsha Model Secondary School at Lalmatiya, was living on a rented room. The Bhaluwang police have taken under control the truck driver and impounded the vehicle.
Meanwhile, another eight – year – old drowned in the Rapti river on Saturday. Pradeep Roka of Pulchowk of Rapti rural municipality – 1 had gone to the river to wash clothes with his mother.
While the mother remained busy washing clothes the boy went playing in the river and drowned in the course, Area Police Office, Bhaluwang said.
Roka's body was recovered by the police and local residents. His body has been taken to the Lamahi Hospital for an autopsy. RSS
