Two die as ambulance carrying new mother collides with auto rickshaw in Jhapa

JHAPA, Jan 18: Two people died when an ambulance carrying a new mother collided head-on with an auto rickshaw in the Tarabari area in Damak Municipality of Jhapa along the East-West Highway on Monday morning.

According to the District Traffic Police Office, the incident took place when the ambulance (Me 1 Cha 1246) heading toward the west from east collided head-on with the rickshaw coming from the opposite direction at 9:45AM.

The deceased has been identified as rickshaw driver Birendra Budhathoki, 40, who was a local resident of Urlabari Municipality-4 and Ramesh Shrestha of Jhapa who was travelling in the rickshaw.
