Two dead in separate accidents

BHAKTAPUR, April 18: A teenage girl died when a tanker hit a motorcycle at Gathhaghar of Bhaktapur last night. The deceased has been identified as Sushma Kutu, 19, a pillion rider on a motorcycle (Ba 83 Pa 9432), police said. 

The accident took place when a tanker (Na 4 Kha 5258) bound to Kathmandu from Bhaktapur hit the motorcycle heading to Kausaltar from Sanothimi, Metropolitan Police Circle Thimi said. 

Severely injured Kutu breathed her last in course of treatment at the Gatthaghar-based Nagarik Hospital, Circle's Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Oli said. Following the accident, police have arrested the tanker driver along and impounded the vehicle. 

Meanwhile, in Kanchanpur district in Far-west, Basanta Raj BK, 37, of Hasuliya, Kailali died on the sport when his motorcycle was knocked down by a bus (Na 3 Kha 3955) near a market area based in Shuklafanta Municipality-5 along the East-West Highway today. 

A bus (Se 1 Pa 4555) bound for Dhangadhi from Mahendranagar hit the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, Area Police Office, Jhalari's Sub Inspector Lalmani Joshi said. 

BK's spouse Meena BK of around 35 years of age who was pillion riding on the motorcycle has been severely injured in the accident and has been admitted to the Mahakali Zonal Hospital. The body of the deceased has been brought to the same hospital for a post-mortem. 

Though police impounded the bus, the driver is on the run. RSS
