KAPILVASTU, Aug 1: Two children drowned while swimming in Kapilvastu on Thursday evening. The incident occurred in the Bikuli Stream, located in Kapilvastu Municipality-10.
According to the Area Police Office, Pipara, the deceased have been identified as 11-year-old Bapas Chaudhary and 10-year-old Nishan Chaudhary, both from Kopawa, Banganga Municipality-5.

Police Inspector Lokendra GC said the boys drowned around 6 PM in the stream, which is a confluence of the Pira and Nagawa rivers.
With the coordination of locals and police, the bodies were recovered shortly after the incident. Police reported that the bodies have been sent to Pipara Hospital for a postmortem.
