Two bills tabled in Gandaki province assembly meeting

POKHARA, Jan 10: Two bills have been tabled in the meeting of the Gandaki province assembly today. 

The Bill Providing for Cooperatives and the Bill Related to the Conservation and Management of the Bar, Peepal (trees) and Chautaro were presented in the meeting. 

The chautaro is the traditional resting platforms constructed alongside the rural trails for the travelers to rest and the bar and peepal trees are often planted beside these resting places for shade. 

President of the Legislation Committee, Mohan Prasad Regmi presented the committee’s report in the meeting. 

Province assembly Speaker Netranath Adhikari informed the assembly that Tek Bahadur Ghartimagar who was elected to the province assembly on a Rastriya Janamorcha ticket from Baglung 2 (B) constituency, has passed away on December 13 at age 47, and that his post has fallen vacant. 

Speaker Adhikari also announced that the next meeting of the Gandaki province assembly is scheduled for 1pm on January 22.
