Turnover amount at Nepse declined to Rs 3.47 billion on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Turnover amount in Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) dropped to Rs 3.47 billion on Wednesday amid investors’ low confident to invest in shares trading.

The transaction volume has been down almost to half of the amount on Tuesday. In the past two days the shares were traded worth 5.02 billion and Rs 6.28 billion respectively.

According to stockbrokers, investors’ confidence has not been boosted by the announcement of local polls due to ongoing liquidity shortage with the banks. As s result, Nepse index declined by 22.06 points to close at 2,813.52 points on Wednesday trading.

The entire of 13 trading groups lost in their share value on an average. Non-life insurance lost the largest of 1.5 point percent in the shares’ value.

Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company that has attracting investors for the past few days posted the largest transaction of its scrip worth Rs 186.16 million. Liberty Energy Company Limited was the top gainer while Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company Limited was recorded as top loser.
