DHANKUTA, March 13: Two employees of Department of Roads (DoR), Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, died when a truck en route to Dhankuta from Dharan carrying excavator parts met with an accident today at Ghante of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-9 along the Koshi Highway. Four people have been injured in the accident.
The District Police Office, Dhankuta confirmed the deaths of Ramjeet Rai and Kabir Bahadur Rai of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-7 in the accident. Injured truck driver Dev Kumar Lama, 45, of Manthali Municipality-7, Ramechhap, his helper Saman Tamang, 20, and Rajesh Ghimire of Makwanpur, Ramesh Bhandari of Dhading have been taken to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
The truck (Na 5 Kha 1936) overturned on the highway all of a sudden, killing the two DoR staffs on the spot and leaving other fours injured, according DPO's SSP Sudip Rajbhandari.
