CHITWAN, Sept 15: The driver of a truck that veered off the road and fell onto the banks of the Trishuli River in Simaltal, along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section, has gone missing. His mobile phone has been switched off, raising suspicions about his whereabouts.
The truck, which was transporting sunflower oil worth over Rs 4 million from Bhairahawa to Lalitpur, crashed this morning, landing approximately 100 meters below the road. The vehicle (Na 6 Kha 6283), was carrying 2,225 cartons of sunflower oil when the accident occurred. Fortunately, the truck came to rest outside the river, on the bank, but the driver, Yam Bahadur Ghale, has not been found.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhesraj Rijal, who inspected the scene, noted the suspicious nature of the incident. “The driver is not in contact, and based on the situation, it is uncertain if he was swept into the river or has gone into hiding,” Rijal said. He said that efforts are underway to locate the driver, and authorities are working to trace the truck's owner through the transport office.
At present, there are no clear indications of Ghale’s condition or location, and authorities are continuing their search for him.
