BAITADI, Nov 15: A cultural and religious festival has kicked off in famous Tripurasundari Bhagawati Temple of Baitadi district from today.
Saving Tansen's Ropai Jatra
Recently, the government has named the temple located at Dasharathchandra Municipality-8 as the new tourism destination in Baitadi district. The festival (Jatra) shall end on Friday, the organizer said. It is believed that the devotees' wishes come true after worshiping in the temple. Chairman of the Festival Management Committee Ganesh Singh Thapa said that liquor intake is prohibited and other measures have been applied to make the festival managed and decent. The festival is popularly known as Karkit Jat and is organized annually.
Thousands of devotees from neighbouring districts of the Far-Western Province and even from neighbouring country India throng the temple to pay homage. On the occasion of the Kartik Jat, the animals including he-buffaloes and he-goats are sacrificed. RSS
