Earthquakes of up to 6.3 magnitude damage number of physical structures in Bajhang

The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center (NEMRC) recorded seven earthquakes in the district of Sudurpashchim Province at different times between 2:40 pm and 5:19 pm. According to the center, the epicenter of the first earthquake was recorded in the Talkot area of the district.
The first earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 in the Richter scale was felt at 2:40 pm while the second one measuring 6.3 in the Richter scale was felt after 26 minutes of the first hit. The epicenter of the second jolt was located in Bhatekhola area.
The third tremor measured 5.1 in the Richter scale, which was followed by three other earthquakes each with magnitudes of around 4 and one with magnitude of around 5 in the Richter scale.
After the earthquake, there was a stampede and commotion in the Martadi market, according to the District Police Office, Bajhang. Six people from Bajhang and one from Achham are reported injured. The impact of the earthquakes was felt as far as the Kathmandu Valley and adjoining areas of Western Nepal.
According to India Today, the effect of the Bajhang earthquake was felt even in NCR of New Delhi, Punjab and Haryana of India. The earthquake's impact lasted for over a minute, according to the Indian media.
