BHAKTAPUR, July 25: The trees in Bhaktapur, Sallaghari area are to be cut. The trees along the road in Sallaghari that are deemed dangerous will be cut down.
In Bhaktapur Municipality-1, three people died when a tree fell on a scooter and a minibus in Sallaghari on Sunday. Three people died in that incident, the deceased are identified as, Bisesh Kharbuja, 25, of Bhaktapur Municipality-2, Nucheram Bakhado of Changunarayan Municipality, and Rajkumar Bhujel of Hariwan Municipality-4 of Sarlahi.
Sunil Prajapati, mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality, said that after coordination between the bodies concerned, it was agreed to remove the trees so that such incidents do not occur again.
Meanwhile, Bhaktapur Municipality expressed its dissatisfaction over the statement made by Mahesh Basnet, Member of Parliament of Bhaktapur Constituency 2, in parliament regarding the incident. The municipality raised an objection to Basnet’s statement in parliament stating that he made arbitrary comments blaming the municipality for the incident.
