KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Amidst a special event, the trailer of upcoming Nepali comedy drama ‘Garud Puran’ was launched on Monday. The trailer is about three minutes long and is based on a brass band and the struggles of their family.
Addressing the event, Subash Koirala said that the movie will be released on January 8, 2019— an auspicious day for wedding since it depicts the story of brass band playing in wedding. A press statement released by production team quoting Koirala saying, “Garud Puran is a comedy movie. The trailer has been made to incorporate the same. We are hopeful that audience will enjoy the trailer and get a hint on what to expect in the movie.”
Journey from Tiktok to silver screen
Actor Najir Hussain is in the lead. He plays the protagonist—a young brass player. Loonibha Tuladhar has played the role of his aunt. She plays the role of an aggressive, and a greedy character. The movie also features actors Karma Sharma, Priyanka Singh Thakuri, Kameswor Chaurasyia, Prabin Khatiwoda, Prakash Ghimire, Rashmi Bhatta, Basanta Bhatta, Krishna Bhakta Maharjan, Janawi Bohara and Kamal Pyasi Devkota as per the press statement.
Ajit Prajapati and Ashok Gautam have jointly produced the movie. The movie’s song ‘Ma Ta Pirim Ma’ has already created a buzz. The song features Nischal Basnet and lead actors of the movie.
