Traffic resumes on Siddhartha Highway

WALING, Oct 21: The Siddhartha Highway, which was blocked since this morning due to landslides caused by incessant rains, has been reopened. Rajendra Prasad Adhikari, spokesperson for the Syangja District Police Office, said that the Pokhara-Syangja road section under the highway has come into operation from both directions at 10:30 AM.

WALING, Oct 21: The Siddhartha Highway, which was blocked since this morning due to landslides caused by incessant rains, has been reopened. Rajendra Prasad Adhikari, spokesperson for the Syangja District Police Office, said that the Pokhara-Syangja road section under the highway has come into operation from both directions at 10:30 AM.


The road that was blocked by a landslide at Bhalu Pahad in Phedikhola Rural Municipality-2 of Syangja at around 3:30 AM this morning has been brought into operation with the help of the Road Department and Putalibazar Municipality. The road is blocked by landslides from time to time as the wall was cut during the road expansion.

The road was completely reopened after about seven hours, according to the police. Hundreds of vehicles were stopped on the road.
