The local administration has banned the movement of trucks carrying over 20 tons to pass through the Mirgunj bridge after it sustained damages on the Jogbani border.

The floods that occurred in the first week of August had damaged Mirgunj Bridge, thereby hitting the vehicular movement through the eastern checkpoint, Biratnagar Custom Office Chief Mimansh Adhikari told Republica Online.

Adhikari said a letter has been sent to the Department of Customs, Ministry of Finance, and Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to resume the operation of Mirgunj Bridge.
