RASUWA, April 22:The number of domestic and foreign tourists coming to visit the upper region of Rasuwa has increased with the arrival of spring and the situation of COVID-19 pandemic returning to normalcy.

Around 100 domestic and 22 to 23 foreign tourists are arriving daily to visit Langtang and the holy shrine of Gosainkunda located in the upper region of Rasuwa, said Chief Conservation Officer of Langtang National Park, Pramod Bhattarai. Majority of the domestic tourists are headed towards the holy shrine of Gosainkunda while foreign tourists are visiting the Langtang national park and for trekking in the mountainous region.

Hotelier Pasang Ghurmi Tamang of Chandanbari shared that the Gosaikunda religious route has become more vibrant after tourists started flocking to the deserted Himalayan tourist area. Hoteliers say that there is hope for economic recovery as the number of visitors continues to increase.

Apart from travelling by land, the attraction of devotees going to Gosainkunda by air is also increasing. Helicopter facility has made it easier for senior citizens, who are unable to walk on foot, to visit this holy shrine, said local priest Tanka Prasad Dhakal.
