KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kiranti, has requested India to provide an additional air route to Nepal.
Talking to Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Shreevastav, at his ministry in Singha Durbar on Friday, Minister Kiranti told the ambassador that the only air route in Nepal through Siraha district is not enough for the increasing number of flights into Nepal, so Nepal should be provided an additional air route to enter the country, according to the minister's secretariat.

In response, the Indian Ambassador Shreevastav said India was always positive about the welfare of Nepal and its people.
Nepal has been requesting India for additional air routes e.g. from Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Mahendrnagar in the wake of the only air route via Simara which has seen increased air traffic in recent times.
