Tourism Minister hints at taking planned steps for tourism promotion

TAPLEJUNG, Nov 12: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has said that a master plan will be unveiled for tourism promotion in eastern hilly districts including Taplejung. 

Reiterating that the tourism activities are slow despite immense potential, Minister Bhattarai stated that plans for tourism development would be implemented in this region.

Marking the beginning of the Tourism and Mountaineering subject at Bhanujan Secondary School Thursday morning, the minister shared that the government would give special focus to Mt Kanchenjunga, Pathibhara Temple, Phungphunge falls, Timbung Pokhari and other tourist sites.

The teaching of this subject at the school is expected to make a positive contribution to the tourism sector.

Minister Bhattarai hoped that study of this subject would help promote tourism-friendly behaviors and other practices accordingly besides job creation.   

On the occasion, he called for publicity, sufficient tourism infrastructure and tourism-friendly conducts as well as concerted efforts of all for the best use of the available opportunities.
