Tourism Minister back home from Australia

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi returned home Wednesday night from Melbourne, Australia after taking part in the Nepal Festival held there from December 14 to 21. 

The Nepal Festival featured the culture, custom, tradition, lifestyle and the tourism destinations of Nepal. 

Upon arrival home, Minister Shahi said the Festival had played an important role in highlighting the nature and culture of Nepal as well as towards promotion of tourism, said Sunil Sapkota, Minister Shahi's press advisor. The Minister termed his Australia visit as historic and significant in terms of promotion of culture and tourism. 

While in Australia, Minister Shahi held talks with the Minister for Finance and Multicultural Affairs of Victoria State, Robin Scott, leader of the opposition party in the Victoria State Parliament, Ms Jing Lee and Mr Bruce Atkinson, president of the Victoria Legislative Council. 

An agreement on tourism promotion between Nepal and Australia was also reached during Minister Shahi's visit, according to Sapkota. On the occasion Minister Shahi extended invitation to Mr Scott and Mr Atkinson to pay a visit to Nepal. RSS
