KATHMANDU, June 26: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has resigned from his post. He submitted the resignation letter to CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal on Sunday.
Around 10 people, including Ale, Birodh Khatiwada, Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Ram Kumari Jhakri and other parliamentarians who are not ministers, had handed over a letter to Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal expressing dissatisfaction over the cabinet reshuffle. However, six lawmakers, including Tourism Minister Ale, withdrew their names from the signatories.
The Unified Socialist had decided to recall four ministers including Ram Kumari Jhakri, Birodh Khatiwada, Prem Bahadur Ale and Krishna Kumar Shrestha from the Cabinet on June 5.
However, saying that the budget was being discussed, Prime Minister Deuba did not immediately change the ministers.
