Tourism flourishing in Bandipur

As the weather changes from being muddy and rainy to clear and beautiful, the number of domestic tourists increases in Bandipur. Holidays are coming and going due to the Dashain and Tihar festivals, and Bandipur witnesses an influx of domestic tourists during this period.

As the weather changes from being muddy and rainy to clear and beautiful, the number of domestic tourists increases in Bandipur. Holidays are coming and going due to the Dashain and Tihar festivals, and Bandipur witnesses an influx of domestic tourists during this period. 



People come to Bandipur to relieve their stress amid serene nature and take a break from their busy lives. According to President of Bandipur Committee, Baisha Gurung, “We receive the most number of tourists during September and October, while visitors also come during the months of June –July, although in fewer number.” 



Gurung informed that Bandipur has become a hotspot for domestic tourists to unwind and spend their holidays. As many as 11 mountain ranges, including Machapuchhre and Annapurna, can be viewed from Bandipur. Bandipur is an eco-friendly city that boasts traditional as well as cultural diversity and free from dirt and pollution. This beautiful town also has old heritage palaces and temples.  



About 500 to 700 international as well as domestic tourists visit Bandipur on a daily basis during the peak tourist season. According to Gurung, around 60 hotels and restaurants in town have been providing lodging and food services to the visitors.



Meanwhile, the increasing influx of tourists in Bandipur has encouraged investors to open hotels and other infrastructures in the area. Keeping impeccable service in mind, three hotels with traditional design and architecture are set to be built in Bandipur. The hotels will be designed in old Bhaktapur house style. The locals look forward to promoting and preserve Newari culture through their hospitality and structure designs. Community home stay facility at Ramkot and Hilekharka are another major attraction for international tourists that especially visit from Thailand, France, Germany, Korea and China.
