Top priority for agriculture sector, PM vows

Kathmandu, March 6: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that problem of unemployment could be addressed only through the modernization and commercialization of agriculture. 

The Prime Minister made this statement this morning with a delegation of national milk producers' society, adding that we should not belittle the importance of agriculture sector. 

The delegation of the national milk producers' society reached the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar to felicitate PM Dahal for giving due priority for agriculture sector. 

Saying that the State failed to address the issues of the agriculture sector despite being the backbone of country's economy, PM Dahal assured to give special priority for agriculture. 

On the occasion, the delegation feted the PM for giving top priority for agriculture and animal husbandry and for constituting the National Farmers Commission. 

The PM has vowed to take some new decisions within some days to ensure positive changes to the farmers, Society's chairman Ananda Prasad Neure quoted the PM as saying. 

On the occasion, the representatives of the society drew attention of PM Dahal to establish a powder milk factory in Chitwan, operate veterinary lab services in all districts and give subsidy in customs amount in the imports of agricultural goods. RSS
