Tilottama mayor to use his salary to provide scholarship to students

BUTWAL, July 5: Mayor of Tilottama Municipality Basudev Ghimire has announced that he would use the salary that he draws on scholarship fund for needy students. 


Wrapping up the Municipality's third town assembly on Wednesday, he said that he would use the entire salary that he gets for five years for providing scholarships to the meritorious students from the economically poor families and studying at community schools.

"I will give my salary as scholarship to one deserving student at each community school in the municipality," Mayor Ghimire declared. 

The government of Province No 5 has fixed the salary of municipality mayor at Rs 35,000 per month. There are 44 community schools in Tilottama Municipality of Rupandehi district. 


Meanwhile, the town assembly of Tilottama Municipality has concluded on Wednesday after endorsing a budget of Rs 1.35 billion for fiscal year 2018/19. It also passed various five local bills. RSS
