KATHMANDU, Aug 23: TikTok has welcomed the Nepal government's decision to lift the ban imposed on the social media platform in Nepal.
Issuing a communiqué, a TikTok expressed excitement over the Nepal government's decision to remove the ban, acknowledging their appreciation for the fruitful dialogue with the government.

“We appreciate the continuous commitment of the Nepal government in fruitful dialogue. We also respect the interest they have shown for the digital experience of the Nepali people," the communiqué reads.
The statement also mentioned that TikTok's creativity and enthusiasm have brought joy to Nepali households and opened significant opportunities for talented creators and businesses.
"We are excited to continue being a platform for the free expression and creativity of Nepali people, as we have always supported Nepal's success story," according to the statement.
A Cabinet meeting on Thursday had decided to lift the ban on TikTok with four conditions. Last year, in November, the government had decided to impose a ban on TikTok, citing concerns about its negative impact on society.
