Tiger kills woman yet again in Banke

NEPALGUNJ, Jan 6: Lila Bista, 54, of Rapti, Sonari Rural Municipality Ward No. 4, Persona has been killed after a tiger attacked her at around 12 noon on Thursday while she was on her way to collect grass in the forest.

Three women from the village had gone to collect grass at Tinpane in the local Jalhan community forest. Bista was then suddenly attacked by a tiger. The tiger took her 20 meters away from the incident spot and started eating her. 

Police had to fire two rounds in the air to take the body under control, according to Mukunda Sigdel, In-charge of the Area Police Office, Dhampur.

According to the locals, a tiger was spotted in the forest of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality Ward No. 4 in the past few days.

Earlier on Wednesday, a woman was attacked while she was going to collect leaves in the forest. However, she managed to survive. In Banke alone, three people have been already killed in a tiger attack in just three months.
