KATHMANDU, Nov 27: Nepal national cricket team captain Gyanendra Malla has said that the ticket rates for the upcoming 13th South Asian Games are quite expensive.
Talking to Republica on Wednesday, skipper Malla said that the Nepalis rarely have the culture of buying tickets to watch live cricket games. He, however, agreed that it was a good move to sell tickets for live matches.
5 things about Gyanendra Malla
“The only reservation I have is tickets should be affordable so that Nepali cricket fans in huge number will throng the venue and cheer for their teams,” argued Malla adding, “Home ground can be a great advantage, and we’re vying for the gold medal since India and Pakistan are not participating.”
Malla further added, “In the absence of India and Pakistan during this SAG, we may have some added advantages. At the same time, we will miss the exposure of the competitive match against them.” According to him, the participation of those countries would help increase the charm of cricket in South Asia.
Earlier, the government had decided to charge Rs 500 and Rs 1000 for normal and VIP tickets respectively.
