KATHMANDU, Oct 17: A record was set on Monday at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the largest and first International airport in Nepal.
A total of 114 international flights/landings took place at this airport on Monday. The TIA authorities reported that this marks the highest number of flights and landings in a single day.
TIA halts takeoffs and landings from 1 AM to 7 AM on Thursday
In just one day, this airport served 16,509 passengers. It is currently the festive season in Nepal, and the tourist season has also commenced. Consequently, airlines are operating under high demand.
Even on domestic routes, airline companies are experiencing nearly 100 percent occupancy.
