KATHMANDU, Oct 12: The terminal lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport TIA) has been extremely cramped on Thursday afternoon. The passengers were forced to stand due to lack of seats. The lounge was overcrowded with passengers after all the flights from the TIA were delayed suddenly.
According to Premnath Thakur, Spokesperson of TIA, the condition is normal in the afternoon despite some problems in the morning, claiming that no flights were delayed more than 15-20 minutes.
“Lukla-bound flights had been delayed due to bad weather in Luka, resulting in delay in the regular flights schedule this morning,” Thakur said. He further said that the number of passengers has soared up due to the season of mountain flights and festivals. “We have already directed the concerned unit to sort out the issue. The situation will turn to normal shortly.”
