KATHMANDU, March 9: Light rainfall is possible in some parts of the country today. At present the country has a general influence of westerly winds. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of temporary rain with thunder in the hilly areas, according to the Meteorological Forecast Division.

This afternoon, the hilly areas of the country including Sudurpaschim Province will experience partial to normal showers, while the weather will be generally clear in the rest of the country.

There is a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places in the hilly areas of the country. According to the division, there is a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of the country.

Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini  and Karnali provinces as well as the hilly areas of the rest of the province will be partly cloudy tonight and the weather will remain generally clear. There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Gandaki.
