BARA, Feb 15: Ruslan Three Star Club (TSC) has advanced into the final of the ongoing ninth Simara Gold Cup football tournament defeating Morang Football Club 4-2 on Wednesday.
At the Simara Stadium, TSC’s Sunil Bal scored two goals, while Bishnu Gurung and Ananta Tamang added a goal each for the winning team. Morang’s Karna Limbu scored two goals in the dying minutes of the match, but could not avoid the defeat.
TSC took a lead in the 23rd minute through Gurung when he utilized a pass from Bal to start the game positively. Bal doubled the lead in the 35th minute as he scored a wonderful goal from outside the box.

Bal doubled his tally just four minutes after the restart when he materialized a pass from Nirajan Khadka to make the TSC’s score 3-0. The winning team scored its first goal of the match in the 77th minute when Khadka’s corner was brilliantly headed in by Tamang.
As soon as TSC substituted its number one goalkeeper Alan Neupane for Abhishek Baral after the win was secured after 80 minutes, the winning team conceded two goals in the 81st and the 84th minute.
Morang’ Limbu pulled a goal back beating TSC’s Baral from inside the box, while Limbu scored three minutes after its first goal to make the score 4-2.
Both the teams missed a series of good chances to score in the match. Bal was named man-of-the-match.
The departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) will take on Birgunj United Club in the last semifinal match on Thursday.
Morang head coach Paras Chaudhary expressed his dissatisfaction after conceding two goals in the first half and said his players played well, but were punished for missing series of important chances.
TSC head coach Megh Raj KC said that his players played really well and succeeded to win despite conceding two late goals. He said his team will leave no stone unturned to get prepared for the final to be held on Saturday.
