MORANG, April 8: Ruslan Three Star Club has entered the final of the ongoing fifth Birat Gold Cup football tournament with a thumping 4-0 win over CMG Sankata Club on Saturday.

Three Star took the lead in the 43rd minute through African player Martins Ajayi, while he doubled his tally in the 76th minute after Buddha Chemjong made the scoreline 2-0 in the 54th minute in the match played at the Shahid Stadium. Bimal Gharti Magar secured the match with the fourth goal in the 79th minute sending Three Star into the final.

Sankata got a good chance in the first five minutes of the match as they got a corner kick in the fourth minute, but it was not that clinical. Three Star got a chance in the eighth minute when Sunil Bal took the corner, but a header was not connected well with the ball.

Both the teams got cautious in the opening 15 minutes as Sankata was playing with a different squad including new players in the lineup. Sankata kept Three Star under the pressure early on in the game, but could not score a goal. A goal from Martins in the stroke of half time affected Sankata’s innovation in front of the goal.

Three Star will now take on the departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club in the final on Monday.
