RUPENDEHI, Oct 26: Nepali Congress (NC) central member, Shekhar Koirala, today said the three political parties must unite to implement the constitution.

At a function held by NC Rupendehi – 4 in Butwal, Koirala termed constitution implementation as the major workload of the country and added that three major parties must unite instead of remaining divided over small issues. "We cannot neglect UML and amend the constitution, we must persuade it as well," he said.

He called on the Nepali media to play a positive role in helping to implement the constitution.

"The parliament and the leaders have given their special attention to Lokman issue, but no one is speaking for constitution implementation," he said.

The NC leader said it was wrong that the ruling party CPN (Maoist Center) had tabled the proposal for impeachment of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Chief Lokman Singh Karki with main opposition CPN (UML), but without consulting the ruling coalition partner, Nepali Congress. He said Karki was a wrong person from the very beginning. RSS
