Three nominations for Speaker of Bagmati

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Bhuvan Kumar Pathak of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has registered his candidacy for the post of Speaker of Bagmati Province Assembly on behalf of the ruling coalition. His proposer is CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Jagannath Thapalia and seconder is Yuvraj Dulal of the CPN (Maoist Centre).

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Bhuvan Kumar Pathak of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has registered his candidacy for the post of Speaker of Bagmati Province Assembly on behalf of the ruling coalition. His proposer is CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Jagannath Thapalia and seconder is Yuvraj Dulal of the CPN (Maoist Centre).


Similarly, Shivraj Adhikari of the Nepali Congress has also registered his candidacy for the post. Adhikari has Kundanraj Kafle as his supporter and Ramakrishna Chitrakar as his seconder. Likewise, Sarjan Sainju of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party has also registered his candidature for the Speaker's post. Geeta Kafle is his proposer and Surendraraj Gosai is his seconder .

The time for filing nominations for the Speaker's post was set for 2PM today. Krishna Hari Khadka, Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat and Election Officer, informed Republica that the meeting of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly will be held at 11 AM on Friday morning. There are 110 members in the provincial assembly.


Election Officer Khadka said that as no candidacy has been registered for the post of Deputy Speaker of the provincial assembly within the specified time limit, the election program will be made public in the provincial assembly meeting to be held tomorrow.
