Three NEA officials caught with Rs 15,000 bribe

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday arrested three officials including Electrical Supervisor Badrinath Neupane of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Mulpalni branch on the charge of taking bribe.

“Electrical Supervisor Badrinath Neupane and assistants Kale Thapa Magar and Bidur Pudasaini of Nepal Electricity Authority, Mulpani branch, have been arrested with Rs 15,000 bribe,” said the anti-graft body in a press release issued today.

According to the CIAA, the accused have taken the money in bribe from various service seekers promising them that they would remove electric wires from their field.

The anti-graft body has filed a corruption case against them at the Special Court, Kathmandu in line with the Corruption Prevention Act, 2002 (3) (1).
