OKHALDHUNGA, July 10: Three persons were killed while 14 others sustained injuries when a bus met with an accident in Okhaldunga on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred when the passenger bus (Me 1 Kha 1891) heading towards Solukhumbu from Kakarbhitta skidded off the road and rolled some 20 meters down atManebhanjyang area of the district.

Three persons died on the spot, according to District Police Office Okhaldunga. The deceased have been identified as bus driver Krishna BahadurBasnet of Jhapa, Maya Thapa of Solukhumbu and LalBahadurDhami of Sindhuli.

Of the injured, three have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment. The police said that the cause of the incident has yet to be ascertained.
