KATHMANDU, Oct 2: A team of the Armed Police Force (APF) has arrested three people along with INR 1 million from Danda-1, Siddharthanagar Municipality, Rupandehi.
The detainees have been identified as Raju Kaushal, 38, from Sunauli-20, Sunauli Gram Panchayat, Maharajganj District; Abhinav Jaiswal, 40, from Hamayunpur, South Gorakhpur, Gorakhpur District; and Astik Tripathi, 34, according to DSP Shailendra Thapa, co-spokesperson of the APF.
Based on specific information, the proposed Border Security Battalion of the APF Nepal inspected a van with number plate Lu 2 Cha 7350 and Pra 01-026 Cha 3652 as it traveled from Belhiya to Bhairahawa. Inside the vehicles, they found Indian rupees totaling INR 0.9 million in Raju Kaushal's possession and INR 0.1 million with Abhinav Jaiswal and Astik Tripathi.
The three arrested individuals have been handed over to District Police Office, Bhairahawa for further legal action.
The seized money and both the vans are being transferred to the Revenue Investigation Office, Butwal.
