Three in police net for swindling people with fake job offer

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Metropolitan Police Crime Division on Monday arrested two persons on charge of swindling seven people with fake promises of European jobs.
 
A squad of Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Teku on Monday arrested Samjhana KC of Thakre VDC, Dhading and Ananda Karki of Salyan VDC, Kaski. The former has been currently residing in Kalanki while the latter has been staying in Dhobighat, Lalitpur.

KC is associated with Koteshwar-based Reckon Educational Consultancy Pvt Ltd and Karki with High Link Educational Consultancy Pvt Ltd also from Koteshwar.

Based on complaints registered at the crime division, KC and Karki were arrested for allegedly swindling seven people of Rs 1 million each, promising them of European jobs.

According to Bharat BK of  Binamare VDC, Baglung, the duo assured them of jobs in Europe but left them high and dry in Russia. 

Police arrested both of the accused from Baneshwar and sent them to the Department of Foreign Employment, Buddhanagar for further action. 

Meanwhile, the division also arrested Bharat Thakuri aka Bikram Singh Thakuri, 30, of Tanahun district for his alleged involvement in swindling money under the pretext of sending people to Spain for lucrative jobs there.  

Police investigation revealed that Thakuri had remained disconnected from victims--Dipendra Malla and Ujit Malla--after receiving Rs 800,000 each for the purpose.
