DHADING, Feb 6: District Police Office (DPO), Dhading on Tuesday arrested three individuals from Gangajamuna Rural Municipality-5 on charge of possessing pistol.
The arrestees have been identified as Narayan Thapa Magar, 25, Ashish Thapa Magar, 30, and Bishal Gurung, 23, of Khaniyabas Rural Municipality-5, Satyadevi.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shyam Kumar Mahato of the DPO informed Republica that the individuals were arrested with one Chinese pistol and seven bullets. They were arrested from the premises of Mandali Secondary School.
“Everyone was busy as the school was celebrating the President Running Shield competition," said DSP Mahato, adding, "As we were observing, we found the activities of these youths suspicious and hence went on to check them."
After recovering the pistol and bullets, police mobilized additional team in the school area to tighten the security.
The detainees have been kept under custody at the DPO. Further action will be taken against them under the charge of possession of weapons.
Police has also intensified investigation to find out what those youths were doing in the place and what was their intention.
