Three held with narcotics, illegal foreign currencies

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj has arrested three persons with narcotic drugs and illegal bank notes of different countries. 

A team mobilized by the Circle apprehended 30-year-old Tirtha Raj Upadhyay of Dhapasi, 35-year-old Dharma Raj Lama of Bouddha and 23-year-old Parag Karki from Sukedhara, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4 on Monday morning. They were found in possession of narcotics substances and foreign currency notes. 

Police confiscated 10 kilograms of brown sugar, 10 grams of hashish, two knives and various tools kept in the scooter (that) they had been riding. The police also confiscated Rs 473,100 Nepali currency notes, Rs 1,400 Indian currency notes, 20 US Dollars, a bank check of Rs 100 thousand rupees of Nepal Bank Limited and a digital camera. 

Similarly, the Metropolitan Police Sector, Sankhu also arrested 45-year-old Tunuk Dorje Lama of Shankharapur Municipality-4 in possession of two kilograms of cannabis. The arrest was made on Sunday. The investigation is underway on all the arrests, police said.
