Three French climbers missing for six days

SOLUKHUMBU, Nov 2: Three French nationals who arrived in Nepal to climb the Khangtega peak in the Khumbu region in the district have been missing for the past six days.

SOLUKHUMBU, Nov 2: Three French nationals who arrived in Nepal to climb the Khangtega peak in the Khumbu region in the district have been missing for the past six days.


Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kahit Katwal informed Republica that the French nationals gone missing are Thomas, Gabiral and Luis.

They had embarked on the expedition in a group of eight via Holiday Himalaya Treks and Expedition Pvt on October 4. The three French went out of contact on October 26.


Search for them is underway, Katwal said, adding a Kailash chopper has been requested for the search of the missing French nationals.


However, five others from the same team have come into contact with the authorities.
