Those opposing House dissolution are against democracy, constitution: PM Oli

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that those opposing the dissolution of the House of Representatives are against democracy, constitution and the nation. 


At an interaction with persons with disabilities at the City Hall in Kathmandu, the prime minister said that those who were taking to the streets against the dissolution of the House of Representatives are against the constitution.

"Those who are calling the House dissolution unconstitutional and undemocratic are themselves against the constitution. They are against the constitution, democracy, country and the people," he said.


Oli claimed that he was forced to dissolve parliament as some people worked to bring political instability and anarchy in the country.


"Those who want to continue their jobs as parliamentarians want to see parliament's continuation for five years. There is nothing more than that. Is the post of a parliamentarian just for the sake of a job? It is not at all," he said.


The prime minister said that he was accused of being totalitarian when he made sincere efforts to steer the country toward political stability. "The upcoming midterm elections will answer those anti-national forces who wanted to see political instability in the country," Oli said.
