KATHMANDU, Nov 22: CPN-UML leader Krishna Gopal Shrestha, who has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-9, said that his victory was the victory of the voters.
Shrestha, who was elected to the HoR for the fourth time, attributed his victory to the voters.

After winning a seat in the lower house of parliament, Shrestha said, “In the last election, my voters voted for me with love, I want to thank all the voters for making me win in this election as well. This victory belongs not only to me but to all the nationalist people, it belongs to the CPN-UML.”
Responding immediately after the victory, he said, “I am more excited now. This victory has motivated me to visit the people's houses and contribute more to the society. I will speed up the pace of development works as per the aspirations of the people. ”
A total of 43,067 votes were cast in Kathmandu-9. Shrestha won the seat in parliament with 11,956 votes. His nearest rival Tek Bahadur Pokhrel of Rastriya Swatantra party, secured 10,961 votes.
